Rhodonite Crystal Heart

Rhodonite is a manganese silicate mineral that can be found in a variety of geological settings, including metamorphic rocks, hydrothermal rocks, and metasomatic rocks. It's often found in association with other manganese minerals, and can also be found in rocks that have been altered by contact metamorphism. Rhodonite can occur in a variety of forms, including rounded crystals, masses, grains, and cleavable to compact masses. It's typically opaque and has a light to deep pink color, though it can also appear brown due to surface oxidation. The rose-red hue is caused by the manganese cation (Mn2+). Rhodonite can also contain black manganese oxide veins, which can give it a pink appearance with crisscrossing lines.
