 It is opaque in transparency with a vitreous to dull luster. Chrysocolla is a Phyllosilicate mineral often found in rounded masses, vein fillings or crusts. It is also made up of Malachite, Cuprite, Quartz, Azurite, and Limonite.

Chrysocolla is a hydrated copper phyllosilicate mineral and mineraloid with formula Cu 2–xAl ₓ{H 2–xSi ₂O ₅ ₄•nH ₂O or ₂H ₂Si ₂O ₅ ₄•nH ₂O).
