Giant Iris

Iris giganticaerulea, or the giant blue iris, is a species of Louisiana iris known for its large, fragrant, blue to purple flowers and tall, upright growth. It is native to the Gulf Coast region, particularly Louisiana, and thrives in wet environments like marshes, ditches, and wet meadows. This rhizomatous perennial is the official state wildflower of Louisiana and is valued for its showy blooms that appear in early spring.
