Peach Moonstone π»π
Peach Moonstone is a variety of Moonstone. It is a potassium aluminum silicate feldspar. The color is usually a tan brown to a very light peach/pink (these colors are able to be seen easier in direct sunlight).
Location: Peach Moonstone is found in Brazil, India, Madagascar, Myanmar (Burma), Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Norway, Australia, Germany, Tanzania and the United States.
Moonstone is distinguished from other similar stones by the presence of adularescence.
Β Adularescence is the optical phenomenon that causes the extraordinary glow on the surface of moonstone. The light moves across the stone much like moonlight would glide across a large body of calm water.
It is very rare due to how it comes into being and where you can find them. The black and green moonstone is the rarest of all moonstones such as the rainbow moonstone and the white moonstone, and peach moonstone.
